About the Workshop
Over 18 businesses, including retailers, hospitality, media, finance, health, and professional services, attended the event, marking it a resounding success. Led by Professor Upkar Pardesi OBE, the workshop took a practical, hands-on approach to demystifying Artificial Intelligence (AI) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Attendees explored how tools like ChatGPT, Canva, Quickbooks, and Trello can help automate everyday tasks, cut costs, and generate business growth – all without needing advanced technical skills.
Participants were introduced to the PODS Prompting Framework – a simple method for generating useful AI outputs by defining your Persona, Objective, Data and preferred Style. Examples included writing job descriptions, summarising government reports, and creating content tailored to individual businesses.
The workshop concluded with a strong call to action to consider joining NCA’s Senior Leadership Programme (SLP) – a Level 7 (Masters) apprenticeship with Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Chartered Manager status and an option to progress to the final stage of an MBA programme with a local university and 95–100% government-funded until the scheme ends in December 2025.
“AI isn’t just about technology – it’s about leadership,” said Prof. Pardesi. “We need confident, values-led leaders in our communities who know how to embrace change. This is the last opportunity to access fully funded senior leadership training – and we must make the most of it.”

Due to overwhelming interest, two follow-up webinars will be held in August, focusing on AI and final funding opportunities for the Senior Leadership Programme.
